To further deepen university-enterprise cooperation and explore effective paths for the international dissemination of Chinese cultural heritage in the new era, on the afternoon of April 22nd, a delegation of 5 teachers and students from our faculty, led by Professor Luo Lie and Teacher Long Yu, visited Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum. They conducted in-depth exchanges with professionals from the museum and held intensive discussions on how to further optimize the English texts of the exhibition captions and commentary scripts at Du Fu Thatched Cottage from the perspectives of translation, language services, and cultural communication. Huang Ping, head of the Industry Development Department of Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum, Yang Huilan from the Industry Development Department, Zhou Yiheng from the Exhibition Design Department, and bilingual docent Yang Shuting warmly received the delegation and participated in the discussions throughout the process.
Taking this exchange as an opportunity, both parties will continue to promote industry-university-research collaborative innovation, closely integrate professional translation knowledge with the practical needs of museum cultural communication, and jointly explore new models for the international dissemination of cultural heritage. This initiative will inject new vitality into the “going global” of the culture of the Du Fu Thatched Cottage, provide more practical opportunities for students, and achieve a win-win situation.
