During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the two-day 27th “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” National English Debating Competition came to a successful conclusion. Guided by teacher Sun Lin, Ye Yucheng and Liao Ziyu, members of our university’s English Debate Team, performed excellently, representing Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) in achieving remarkable results in this competition and winning the national silver medal.
The highlight of this “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” Debating Competition lies in the profound critical thinking and teamwork spirit demonstrated by the contestants. As seasoned partners from the English Debate Team, the two debaters collaborated with great rapport. They not only presented unique insights into complex social issues but also conveyed their viewpoints thoroughly through fluent English. Whether it was the clear argumentation of the affirmative side or the negative side, the audience could feel the power of language and the charm of thinking. This feast of ideas served as an important opportunity for the participants to constantly surpass themselves and enhance their abilities, bringing each participant a unique growth experience and rich gains.
